VAD Mobile: An Essential Accessory

With new VAD Mobile Wireless, the user is no longer confined to the cabin of the vehicle with the traditional OBD-II cable. Now, an OBD-II adapter equipped with Bluetooth wireless technology is used in conjunction with a Palm OS PDA or Smartphone to communicate with on board computers.

COMPATIBLE WITH CAN-BUS EQUIPPED VEHICLES

Not only does VAD Mobile Wireless offer increased flexibility and portability, it is also able to communicate with the latest CAN-Bus equipped VW and Audi vehicles up to the 2010 model year. These newer (post 2004) models rely heavily on a faster and more advanced communication system that cannot be completely accessed with the original VAD Mobile product. With VAD Mobile Wireless operating over the Bluetooth wireless network, all ECU’s can now be accessed and navigation and sampling rates are faster than ever before.

UPDATED INTERFACE AND FUNCTIONALITY

The updated diagnostics software features an improved user interface, hundreds of new fault codes, and an up to date vehicle data base; allowing users to perform the newest basic settings, long coding and adaptation procedures. A new quick scroll features makes it easier to navigate while logging multiple measuring blocks, and more detailed parameters for each measuring block have been added.

As an added feature, with VAD Mobile Wireless, you now have access to two additional software modules: OBD-II universal diagnostics and a specialized Print module (both sold separately).

VAD OBD-II Universal

• Supports both PWM and VPW J-1850 communication protocols, including nearly all European, Japanese, and Domestic models.

• Print pre-formatted reports wirelessly from your device direct to an IrDA equipped laser printer.

VAD Mobile Wireless is compatible with all CAN enabled VW/Audi vehicles with few exceptions (2008+ A5/S5, 2009+ A4/S4/Q5, and select 2010 modules under the new UDS protocol). Because the VAD software is constantly being updated, it is wise to contact VAD if you are uncertain whether your vehicle is compatible.

With the addition of a PDA to Serial cable, you will be able to communicate with all non-CAN equipped VW/Audi vehicles.

A flat rate shipping fee of $15 ($20 for Arkon™ mounts) is applied to all individual cable and accessory orders. This shipping charge will be waived if the cable/accessory is purchased at same time as VAD Mobile.

VAD Warranty

Warranty Period

All VAD products, excluding Palm OS PDA’s, come with a 1 year manufacturer’s warranty. Palm products offered for sale by VAD separately or as a bundle are warrantied for 60 days total from the date of purchase. All Palm OS PDA’s are in refurbished condition, and may show minor scratches or blemishes on the outer casing.

Warranty Procedure

Most technical questions can be answered via the FAQ portion of the website or by phone or e-mail, and updates can be sent to improve performance on a regular basis. If you experience difficulties in operating your VAD device or its accessories, please do not attempt a product return to VAD. In this instance, please contact info@vadmobile.com for further instruction. Product or parts shipped by a customer to VAD must be sent postage-paid and packaged appropriately for safe shipment. VAD is not responsible for customer products received without return authorization. These products may be rejected upon delivery. Repaired or replacement products that are still within the warranty period will be shipped to the customer at the expense of VAD. All parts or products that are replaced become the property of VAD. VAD shall not be responsible for a customer’s software, firmware, information, or memory data contained in, stored on, or integrated with any products returned to VAD for repair.
